Recovering from the Memorial Day Floods
Jun 10, 2015 by heatherThis past Memorial Day brought an unexpected amount of severe weather to the Central Texas region. Our thoughts are with those families and communities who lost so much as a result. Though our attention was initially focused on the Wimberley area, which was devastated by the recent floods, we soon realized that more than 180 families across Williamson County suffered significant damage. These families will need the help of the community in the days, weeks and months ahead in order to rebuild their lives and their homes.

I work a couple of days a week in the food pantry at the Round Rock Area Serving Center. It is very satisfying to help families by providing them with food. I love to see the smiling faces of the adults and children that come through the pantry. They are very thankful for the service we provide.
