Who We Are

The Mission of the Epilepsy Foundation is to lead the fight to overcome the challenges of living with epilepsy and to accelerate therapies to stop seizures, find cures, and save lives.

It may be hard to believe, but every 4 minutes someone in the U.S. is diagnosed with epilepsy. In the time it takes to read this, someone will hear the words “You have a seizure disorder…you have epilepsy.” Epilepsy affects all aspects of a person's life.  Learning to cope with and manage epilepsy takes a coordinated effort by family, friends, teachers, and the community. The Foundation will serve as a resource to connect you to the network of people who want to help you live life to the fullest!

The Epilepsy Foundation Central & South Texas (EFCST) was founded in 1993 to improve the quality of life of over 141,000 persons with epilepsy residing in 79 Central and South Texas counties.

The Epilepsy Foundation Central & South Texas strives to put an end the myths and misunderstandings about epilepsy while helping individuals with epilepsy to improve their quality of life and the opportunity to live a full and meaningful life.
