Kindred Hospice

Hospice is not a place; it’s a philosophy of care that enhances life as it nears its end for the patients and their families and friends. 

Kindred Hospice is a team of professionals who provide care to patients and families with end of life needs. As key members of the care team, volunteers expand and enhance hospice services for our patients. Volunteers bring special skills and talents to share with patients, and offer comfort through companionship visits, administrative assistance and special projects for patients and their families.

Everyone needs someone to show they care. Be a friend to a hospice patient. Spend time visiting, talking, listening, laughing, playing games with and reading to a hospice patient. By taking a few moments a week you can make a lasting impact on the heart and life of a patient. 

Through caring, compassion, and time given to hospice patients, our volunteers make an invaluable contribution to community, gain personal emotional and spiritual growth, and greater appreciation for life.

Prefer to volunteer in an administrative capacity?

Volunteers are needed for the following administrative duties in our Georgetown office:

• Assemble files
• Sort, file, collate files and charts
• Data entry
• Quarterly Bereavement mailings
• Ongoing mailings - including cards to patients, addressing/stuffing envelopes.

Hours:

Flexible hours in various areas of hospice administrative office. Minimum 3-4 hours per week, M-F, 8:30-5:00. Some tasks may be completed at home.

Training provided for all Patient Volunteers and Administrative Volunteers. Background check & TB screening required (at Kindred's expense).
