Who We Are

Our History

The Paloma Hospice and Palliative Care were founded by healthcare professionals in 2017 that recognized a need for patient-focused care in South Texas.  The San Antonio location opened for operations in 2017 and our Austin location was opened in 2020.  Our leaders have years of hospice experience and come from clinical backgrounds.  We formed to treat patients in this community like family and not just a number.

Our approach encompasses both the patient and their loved ones to provide both clinical and emotional support during this journey.  We understand the psychological impact choosing services can have and we strive to treat the mind and the body.  Our multi-disciplinary team of professionals is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide supportive care as well as pain and symptom management.

What We Do

Our Mission

We will provide comprehensive physical, emotional, social, and spiritual support to our patients and their loved ones.  We will understand with compassion those that are dealing with a life-limiting illness and enable them to live with comfort and quality of life as well as outstanding medical care.

Our Philosophy

Paloma means “dove” in Spanish.  We have chosen this as a symbol of our philosophy because we believe palliative care should bring peace to all involved.  We exist to help provide comprehensive care to help understand the process and affirm life. We believe that with education and support, there can be an understanding of illness and death while focusing on living life to the fullest as long as possible.
