Hospice Compassus Administrative Support Volunteers help the staff, often through working in the office.  This support may include comoputer work, filing, copying, sending cards or bereavement notes, making phone calls to patients and or families. If you are compassionate, caring, loving and have a calling to help others, becoming a hospice volunteer might be the perfect opportunity for you.  Our volunteers give their time, talent and hearts generously and unselfishly - yet commonly feel that they receive more than they give.  Volunteers can assist with a variety of activities -from unbiased listening, visiting patients,caregiver respite, providing grief support, or light housekeeping. Do you love talking to people on the telephone? Would you like to be a friendly voice to a terminally ill patient and family? Then you would enjoy volunteering as a Compassionate Caller. Compassionate Calls are made weekly, every Thursday morning, to Compassus patients that are living in their home. It is a joy for a hospice patient or family member to receive a phone call from a volunteer to check in with them and see how they are doing, or to talk to their Caregiver and give a word of encouragement. Compassionate Calls also help our medical staff by asking patients/caregivers if they are in need of any supplies for the upcoming weekend. Compassionate Calls are made from our office in Round Rock.
