We have an urgent need for Spanish speaking volunteers to help us better serve our community. Client Service volunteers connect families with vital resources. Please help us serve our community!

Garden Volunteer Opportunities at Round Rock Area Serving Center:

The Serving Center is looking for volunteers that either know how to grow fruits and vegetables, or would like to learn under our Williamson County Master Gardeners.  Volunteers meet every Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning from 9-11 (weather permitting), and the 1st Saturday of every month (except April), also from 9-11.  You can come as often as you like and you don't need to stay the whole 2 hours either.  If you just want to come for an hour and harvest, that's great.

Our gardens provide about 5000 pounds of fresh, organic produce to the food pantry every year and we teach and assist 5 client families to manage their own beds at the garden.  We have 47 raised vegetable beds and a small orchard with blackberries, grapes, figs, pears, pomegranates, mulberries and this year we are installing a raspberry bed.

No experience required, but it does help to enjoy being outside.  Here's what you can learn or teach:  soil preparation, planting seeds and transplants, pest control, fertilizing, harvesting, weed control, composting and greenhouse management.

We are in need of volunteers to help staff our Charity Re-Sale Clothing Store and Boutique.

You will assist in checking out our customers, helping our customers, stocking our shelves, and maintaining the store.

We currently have opportunities Monday through Friday from 10am to 4pm and Saturday 10am to 2pm.

We are in critical need of cashiers on Saturdays.

We would love for you to come and volunteer with us!

The Round Rock Area Serving Center is a Texas non-profit corporation, also known as the Serving Center, which carries out a community-wide mission of churches, other organizations and individuals serving human needs in the City of Round Rock and surrounding areas. We are here to serve those in need in our community.

For over 35+ years the Round Rock Area Serving Center has been a resource in our community – reaching families and individuals in crisis and serving their needs with assistance, care and support.

Services provided include a food pantry, Amazon home delivery program, clothing & furniture vouchers, Keep Round Rock Warm, community gardens, The Volunteer Center, a charity resale store, Computers for Kids, and financial assistance for utilities, rent, prescriptions, payday loan assistance, transportation, and temporary lodging.

We currently need volunteers to help with our client services. Training will be provided. Client services are located upstairs and volunteers will work with clients over the phone and/or one on one. 

Requirements:

There is a minimum 1 year commitment for this volunteer opportunity. Must be available during the day between the hours of 9am and 4pm or Saturday 9-12pm (shifts available). Computer proficient or eager to learn computer skills not limited to, learning our web based platform, scanning, and uploading paper work to add to client's computer profile. Understanding the organizations funding and grants.

The Round Rock Area Serving Center needs a greeter M-F from 10am to 2pm. This volunteer position would greet visitors and clients at the door and direct them to their needs, food pantry, volunteer station, etc.

We need you to pick up the food from Amazon Distribution Center on Chisholm Trail every Wednesday. You can pick up the donation anytime between 10am and 1pm and drop it off at the Serving Center. They normally donate between 5 and 15 boxes of non-perishable items. These boxes can weigh up to 60 pounds. A pick-up truck or large SUV with fold down back seats would be the best vehicle for this location. This is a small time commitment that yields a big return to our community!
