Volunteer: Acorn Engagement SpecialistPurpose The Acorn Engagement Specialist serves as the primary steward of Stevie D Squirrel, STARRY's Director of Acorn Acquisition, and oversees the Acorn Across Texas staff engagement initiative. This volunteer plays a key role in promoting organizational culture, recognizing staff achievements, coordinating Stevie's statewide travels, and creating engaging experiences that strengthen collaboration across STARRY programs. Key Responsibilities Coordinate Stevie's travel schedule between STARRY offices, events, and program locations. Assist in maintaining Stevie's Travel Journal and Passport by documenting office visits, milestones, and adventures. Manage Stevie's official email account by preparing Acorn Alerts, recognition announcements, birthday messages, and other communications. Coordinate monthly Acorn Challenges and collect submissions from offices and programs. Track and coordinate transfers of Stevie. Collect photos, videos, and stories from Stevie's travels for internal communications and teams channel. Create and distribute digital recognition badges, Acorn Accomplishment stickers, and other engagement materials. Coordinate with Marketing to share Stevie's adventures and highlight staff accomplishments. Maintain Stevie's wardrobe, accessories, travel bag, trophies, and engagement supplies. Brainstorm and implement creative ways to increase staff participation, recognition, and organizational pride. Assist with planning office visits, outreach events, conferences, and special appearances featuring Stevie. Preferred Qualifications Strong organizational and communication skills. Creative, enthusiastic, and enjoys planning fun engagement activities. Comfortable using Microsoft Outlook, Canva, and basic Microsoft Office applications. Ability to coordinate multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail. Passion for recognizing others and fostering a positive workplace culture.
