The Charlie Center is a Navigation Center that serves the unhoused community of North Austin and surrounding areas.

We are looking for volunteers to serve onsite at The Charlie Center on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am to 1:15pm.

What volunteers can expect to do: set-up dinning room, check-in clients to the center, serve a beautiful meal, and help our clients check their mail. We ask all volunteers to stay and help with a light clean-up of the center after all of our clients have left.

The City of Round Rock will be conducting a Neighborhood Cleanup on September 6th, from 8 AM – 12 PM in the Downtown Round Rock and Dove Creek Neighborhoods. We would like to reach out to all of our volunteer groups to see if anyone would be interested. Hospice patients are in the final stages of their lives, and regular visits from volunteers provide support and comfort. Having someone to talk to, sharing stories or even providing a quiet presence is incredibly valuable and makes a meaningful difference in their lives. Volunteers can also offer respite and downtime for the primary caregiver and other family members.

Activities hospice volunteers can do with patients include: talking, reading aloud, listening to music, watching TV/movies, writing letters, sharing stories, reminiscing about times in their lives, looking at photos, sewing/knitting, playing cards or board games, working puzzles, sharing time, etc. Volunteers are encouraged to share any special skills or talents with patients.

We are looking for volunteers who can make a commitment to volunteer 1-2 hours per week. Volunteer shifts are flexible and tailored to the volunteer’s schedule and availability. We match volunteers with patients that are located close to their home. This opportunity is not a clinical role; therefore, volunteers do not need medical experience. Reset Mentoring is always in need of mentors to invest in our youths' lives. We work with at risk youth locked up in the Williamson County Juvenile Justice Center and the teens that are out in the community. We look for people interested in being positive influence, investing 6-9months minimum with a teen if assigned. Reset has a variety of events for our teens, but our biggest need is the one-on-one mentoring that provides a teen with valuable lessons.

Senior clients and all volunteers receive birthday cards from our agency.  We need stamps donated to mail these (for some clients we have, this is the only birthday card they receive!) and also need birthday cards as well.  Stamps may be delivered in person to our office or mailed to us at the address below.  

Interested in volunteering with us? We have a workshop every Tuesday to work on bikes. No prior bike mechanic skills necessary! We have several volunteers who pick up donations, assist clients in selecting a bike, refurbish bikes and manage the organization. We use some of our donations to purchase lunch for these hard working volunteers during our mid-afternoon break. We need help fixing bikes, cleaning up bikes, managing social media, pick-up, delivery, fundraising, marketing and corporate support. Come help us. The feeling of making someone’s life nicer is very rewarding. You will be richly rewarded by seeing the smiles we create.

Georgetown Free Bikes operates through a dedicated group of people and organizations with a passion for the mission of ensuring everyone who wants a bike has access to one. With that in mind, our volunteers are what makes the organization move forward. Georgetown Free Bikes is managed by a volunteer board.

Our passionate team of volunteers collect and receive bicycle donations from the local area. Volunteers process bicycles by helping people choose the right bike size. Mechanics then take those bicycles, evaluate them and begin the task of refurbishing them to a functional bicycle to live a new life with a new owner. We have all the tools and parts necessary to refurbish these bicycles. All we need is enthusiastic people interested in helping the community. No experience is necessary, we will teach you how to fix up bikes. The satisfaction of taking a bike that has some issues and making it functional again is rewarding in itself but when you experience the joy we create, that is the cherry on top.

We are looking for volunteers to cook or buy meals for our weekly Teen Night events that happen every Thursday in Round Rock from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Food volunteers generally 1) sign-up for a meal/date to cook, 2) make prepared dish, and 3) drop off to the Teen Night Coordinator the afternoon of the event. 

This can be a once or twice a year. Individuals, families or even Life Groups are welcome to provide a meal.  We would love to add you to our Meal Provider list!

Our Love Box® program provides community and holistic support to fostering families, including caregivers, children experiencing foster care, and biological/adopted children. This wrap-around support empowers caregivers to continue to do the important and meaningful work of being foster parents. Each Love Box® volunteer/group will be matched with a local foster family based on location and compatibility. When our families are matched with committed volunteers who show up monthly, parents feel supported, and children gain a greater sense of normalcy, relational permanency, and self-confidence. This support also leads to increased placement stability, reducing the high rate of turnover that often occurs in the foster care system.

Join us in addressing one of the biggest challenges in the Greater Austin area: childhood illiteracy.

By empowering volunteers to read one-on-one with students, we support educators in helping children learn and grow. Our volunteers make an impact by reading with elementary students each week for 15 minutes per student, totaling 30 minutes. This commitment remains consistent with the same day, time, and students throughout the school year, typically from September to May.

Garden Volunteer Opportunities at Round Rock Area Serving Center:

The Serving Center is looking for volunteers that either know how to grow fruits and vegetables, or would like to learn under our Williamson County Master Gardeners.  Volunteers meet every Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning from 9-11 (weather permitting), and the 1st Saturday of every month (except April), also from 9-11.  You can come as often as you like and you don't need to stay the whole 2 hours either.  If you just want to come for an hour and harvest, that's great.

Our gardens provide about 5000 pounds of fresh, organic produce to the food pantry every year and we teach and assist 5 client families to manage their own beds at the garden.  We have 47 raised vegetable beds and a small orchard with blackberries, grapes, figs, pears, pomegranates, mulberries and this year we are installing a raspberry bed.

No experience required, but it does help to enjoy being outside.  Here's what you can learn or teach:  soil preparation, planting seeds and transplants, pest control, fertilizing, harvesting, weed control, composting and greenhouse management.

Volunteers will register for one-hour volunteer sessions, reading with two children for 30 minutes each. During Reading Allstars virtual sessions volunteers listen to participants read, ask questions, and offer strategies for reading help. Reading Allstars virtual sessions will take place on Zoom.  

Individuals interested in volunteering will need a laptop or computer, an understanding of Zoom, and the ability to share their screen while volunteering.

All volunteers must be 18+, clear a background check, and complete training video prior to their registration being approved. One-time volunteers are welcome with the hopes that each volunteer will sign-up weekly or at least bi-weekly.

Two PT staff members will be on every Zoom session to ensure the safety of the participants and to offer assistance to the volunteers.

The Round Rock Area Serving Center is a Texas non-profit corporation, also known as the Serving Center, which carries out a community-wide mission of churches, other organizations and individuals serving human needs in the City of Round Rock and surrounding areas. Round Rock Helpers needs volunteers with general around-the-house fix-it skills. The volunteers will visit the residences of Round Rock area seniors or disabled residents to fix concerns identified by the client.

Each Friday morning Round Rock Helpers creates teams of two or more volunteers to visit client residences and perform minor home maintenance tasks. The jobs are selected and scheduled so that all work is completed between 9:00am and noon on Fridays. Typically, three to five teams are formed each week and each team will have two to three clients to visit. The jobs range from air filter and smoke alarm battery replacements to any minor home repair including wheelchair entry ramp construction. Some work is outdoors, and volunteers may select which team they wish to work with every week.

Our patients have become isolated and lonely and we need YOU to visit and bring them some happiness! No experience necessary! We are just looking for caring people with smiling faces.

We have 2 main needs:

1) Patient Companionship volunteers who can spend between 30 minutes to 1 hour either weekly or every other week visiting with a patient.

2) Respite volunteers who can spend 1-2 hours either weekly or every other week giving a caregiver a much need break to run errands or just get out of the house.

City of Round Rock Neighborhood Services partners with Code Enforcement to assist Round Rock citizens with yard maintenance when residents receive a code violation and are unable to resolve the immediate issue due to being elderly, disabled, have a serious illness and/or have served in the US armed forces. We are always looking for volunteers interested in mowing lawns, trimming trees and whacking weeds. We will provide all of the tools and equipment necessary. All you need to do is provide the heart and the muscle.

Teens ages 13-18: DO YOU NEED VOLUNTEER HOURS?  Senior Access has a Teen Van Volunteer Program Monday-Thursday from about 8:45-2:00. Volunteers assist the van driver by helping senior clients get into and out of our van, carry groceries, and talk to the van riders. Serve, laugh and learn with seniors this summer! Volunteer drivers help individuals 60 and older to remain independent and age in their own homes. Be a volunteer driver and help your senior neighbors get to doctor appointments, grocery stores, libraries, beauty salons, etc. Volunteers also needed to complete handyman tasks, and help with light yard work. Providing transportation also helps relieve loneliness and isolation. Be a driver and a friend!

The Victim Services Team is a group of volunteers that are trained in crisis triage for survivors, witnesses, and families who have been traumatized by the experience of death, serious injury, violent crime, or natural disaster.

After the emergency responders (fire, police, and EMS) conduct their initial investigation and complete their reports, they often have other calls they must respond to. Victim Services response teams can remain with victims, survivors, and witnesses in the immediate aftermath of a tragedy to assist them with temporary support through the first very difficult hours. Victim Services can hep to get officers and emergency personnel back on the street more quickly and provide support on the scene as well as referrals for other Assistance. The more individuals involved as victim’s advocates, the greater the community impact.

Resolutions Hospice is looking for caring people who are ready to have some fun and spend some time with our patients in Cedar Park or Round Rock.  No experience is necessary - just a kind heart and a great attitude.

The patient support volunteer provides supportive care to patients by reading, playing games, and talking with the patients.

The administrative support volunteer helps making consent packets, answering and directing phone calls, and assists in the day to day operations.

The Love Box program provides fostering families (caregivers, children in foster care, and biological/adopted children) with community and holistic support. This wrap-around support enables caregivers to continue to do the important and meaningful work of being foster parents. As a Love Box group, you will be matched with a local foster family based on location, compatibility, and scope of needs. When our families are matched with committed volunteers who show up monthly, parents feel supported and children gain a greater sense of normalcy, relational permanency, and self confidence.

Volunteers seek to build relationships with their family by spending quality time with the whole family: playing games, sharing a meal, and being intentional. They can also create and deliver personal care packages based on current practical needs. We tell our volunteers to think of themselves as the fun “auntie” and “uncle” who visits once a month to bring love, encouragement, and hope. This program requires a one year commitment, but the connections and impact last a lifetime.

​​The heart of the Dare to Dream program is to walk alongside youth as they navigate through life's challenges. The youth in our Dare to Dream program need the wisdom, advice, encouragement, and community that mentors can provide. Mentors meet practical and emotional needs as well as provide guidance through developmental milestones. The goal is for youth to be engaged and to feel supported and equipped to navigate life. A mentor commits to meeting with the youth every other week to set goals and help them achieve their dreams. These relationships will hopefully last a lifetime, but the program is a year commitment. Mentors matched with a high school student are strongly encouraged to stay with the youth until high school graduation.

We tell mentors that the simple act of telling their youth “I believe in you,” “You are special,” and “You are going to do great things” can change their path completely.

We need back-up, fill-in helpers to work occasional Monday or Friday morning shift to answer phone and do simple data entry for neighbors coming to the food pantry for groceries. Volunteers do not need to be Catholic to help with this ministry, but we are a Christian spirituality group and we endeavor to be the face of Christ for those we serve.

We are seeking a Fundraising and Communication Intern who will help take our organization to the next level! Camp Agape raises funds each year from grants, fundraisers, companies, individuals, and events to support projects which improve the lives grieving children and their families. It will be of particular interest to someone wanting to gain knowledge of and experience supporting fundraising in all streams. As an intern, you will provide general support to the team, both virtually and in person events. You will work towards setting and achieving fundraising targets with the Executive Director.
