What: Williamson County Homeless Awareness Event, Volunteer & Resource Fair

Where: J.B. & Hallie Jester Williamson County Annex, 1801 E. Old Settlers Blvd., Round Rock

When: Saturday, Nov. 18, 2023, from 4 to 8 p.m.

The Wilco Homeless Coalition, founded in 2019 to connect people in need through resource fairs, will be hosting this fair free to the public to build community support and increase awareness of people experiencing homelessness. The Round Rock Area Serving Center serves the needs of individuals and families through a coalition of churches, organizations and individuals in the city of Round Rock and surrounding areas.

 

Sponsoring this event is Williamson County Commissioner Terry Cook, Precinct 1.

 

Featured speaker will be Maggie Ellis, candidate for Texas 3rd Court of Appeals, Place 2, who experienced homelessness as a child.

 

There will be a screening of Lead Me Home, a documentary about homelessness in America, followed by a Question & Answer period from 6 to 8 p.m. The movie is rated PG-13.

Complimentary snacks will be provided during the movie.
