GEORGETOWN PALACE THEATRE PRESENTS:
DEATHTRAP by Ira Levin
Palace Playhouse
Tickets on Sale Now
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS (January 10) –
Georgetown Palace Theatre will present the classic comedic thriller,
DEATHTRAP by Ira Levin, from January 14- February 13 at the Palace Playhouse.
Comfortably ensconced in his charming Connecticut home, Sidney Bruhl, a successful writer of Broadway thrillers, is struggling to overcome a dry spell which has resulted in a string of failures and a shortage of funds. A possible break in his fortunes occurs when he receives a script from a student in the seminar he has been conducting at a nearby college—a thriller that Sidney recognizes immediately as a potential Broadway smash. Sidney’s plan, devised with his wife’s help, is to offer collaboration to the student for co-credit. Or is it?
DEATHTRAP provides twists and turns of devilish cleverness, and offers hilariously sudden shocks in such abundance that audiences will be spellbound until the very last moment.
This show contains violence, adult themes, and limited use of strong language. Discretion is advised.
The production is directed by Tracy Arnold, set-designed by Justin Dam, and lighting design is by Faith Castaneda. Jenn Gholson is property designer, costume design is by Jessica Quinn and Gretchen Johnston is scenic artist. Isaac Howell is production stage manager and Makenzie Vance is assistant stage manager.
This production will be presented inside at the Palace Playhouse, the Palace's resident black box theatre off 8th Street and Tin Barn Alley. Performances run Friday and Saturday at 7:30pm and Sunday at 2pm. will be $34 for adults, $32 for seniors, students and military, $17 for children. All fees are included in ticket pricing. Tickets are on sale now at GetPalaceTickets.com.
The theatre will be seated at 100% capacity. Due to high levels of transmission in Williamson County, and to maintain the safety of our patrons, performers, staff, students, and volunteers, the Palace will be requiring masks while indoors at all times for audience members and staff for all performances and concerts. The Palace greatly appreciates the understanding and patience of our audiences as we continue to bring live arts to our region amidst the current challenging circumstances.
Next up for the Palace Theatre is the Johnny Cash musical, RING OF FIRE, running from January 21-February 20 on the Springer Stage.
