Therapy Pet Pals of Texas, Inc.

Therapy Pet Pals of Texas has provided pet therapy to elderly and ill patients and residents in healthcare facilities in Austin/Central Texas communities since 1984.  Volunteers and their calm, obedient, friendly pets visit their assigned healthcare facilities twice per month, making lasting bonds with the people they serve.  Pet Pal Teams provide a ray of sunshine by greeting the residents with a “smile and a tail wag” and sharing their pet’s unconditional love.

Therapy Pet Pals of Texas holds four Qualifying and Training Classes each year for new volunteers and their dogs or cats.  The two hour class includes information about our organization, membership requirements and hands-on temperament and obedience assessments.  Applicants that pass the class receive three individual training sessions at one of our participating facilities.  We are looking for loving volunteers with calm, friendly, obedient dogs to help us continue to serve these often forgotten members of our community.  For more information and to sign up for a class, please visit our website at: www.therapypetpals.org.
