"Be of service. Whether you make yourself available to a friend or co-worker, or you make time every month to do volunteer work, there is nothing that harvests more of a feeling of empowerment than being of service to someone in need." ~ Gillian Anderson
We could all probably name a person or two that juggles multiple extracurricular activities at one time! Our lives are filled with an eight hour workday, traffic, business meetings, dance lessons, little league, more traffic, and the list goes on! No wonder we just don't have the time to volunteer outside of personal or family events.
You are busy! It can be hard to find spare time to volunteer, but I propose a challenge for you, your friends or the entire family! What if you set aside an hour or two each week to volunteer in our wonderful community? Did you know there are hundreds of nonprofit agencies in Williamson County that rely on volunteers to assist our fellow community members? There are so many ways to give back, from serving senior citizen communities, making hygiene kits as a home based project, or cleaning up our beautiful parks around the city!
The challenge is this; please consider joining The Volunteer Center May 2, 2015 from 9:00 AM-4:00 PM at Centennial Plaza in Round Rock for the Williamson County Volunteer Fair. Come meet nonprofit organizations from Williamson County, and learn about the different ways you, your friends, or the entire family can get involved in the community! Let's get involved, be empowered and raise the next generation of humanitarians!
